In
the final part of his tribute to Gene Siskel, Roger Ebert said that Siskel
ended every interview with the question "What do you know for sure?"
He then went on to talk about what he knew for sure about Siskel. I will now do
the same for you Roger.
What
do I know for sure about you Roger?
Well
you loved movies. You loved discussing movies. Either with your friends Gene or
Richard or you countless guest co-hosts. From what I can tell you were also a
loving husband to your wife Chaz. A loving father, step-father and grandfather.
Even though you had lost your ability to speak you did not lose your voice. You
continued to write and watch movies and let everybody know what you thought.
Nothing
would keep you quiet. You were also an inspiration for many writers and
critics. Finally, I know that right now you and Gene are reunited and you guys
are watching and discussing movies.
Rest in Peace Roger. We'll see you at the
movies.
